A total of 426 deaths from Pandemic (H1N1) Influenza have been reported in Canada as of Jan 28, 2010. Out of 1,278 confirmed cases of the Pandemic (H1N1) in Alberta, Alberta have had 71 deaths and is the third highest in the Country (Public Health Agency of Canada).

It is therefore prudent to look back and start planning for another pandemic now. Employers were the most affected (besides the families of the affected) hence there is a tremendous need for employers to prepare for the possibility of another pandemic.
